CHAK DE VOTER…..CHECK THE POLITICIAN
BCS launches its VOTE 2009 project with its first programme,
An Awareness Workshop on Tuesday, 20 January 2009 at 7 p.m.
at St Michael's Auditorium, Lady Jamshedji Road, Mahim.
We are in 2009…. the year of CHANGE.
We will be VOTING to ELECT our MPs and our MLAs.
New constituencies due to de-limitation now need better understanding and new strategies.
Our politicians, however, see CHANGE differently…they have recently made some GLARING CHANGES in the Nagar Raj Bill, thus snatching away the little empowerment that citizens would get and making us puppets in their hands.
Recent events in our city have generated a lot of anger in people which has given an impetus to the young to join the electoral process and hence they need to be guided as much as all of us.
Have you been helpless when approached by them?
Have you been wondering what to do with the CD of the Rolls sent to you/your PP?
We will show you how to go through it and use it effectively.

This will simplify for us the complexities of the Electoral Rolls and give us answers to various questions and situations faced by us from new voters, registered voters and unregistered voters too regarding their entries, photos, etc. The draft electoral rolls are being published on January 23. Those unregistered voters will get a last chance to enroll before the Parliamentary Elections. We must not miss this opportunity.
Mr. Sharad Kumar, AGNI Trustee, who has been closely working with the Election Commission and ADR, will be guiding us and addressing our issues appropriately.
You will also be made aware of how the Nagar Raj Bill and the Area Sabha concept has been tampered with by our legislators and the action plan for us to stall it in the present format and re-introduce it with the suggestions of citizens.
Mr. Surendra Srivastava, Volunteer of LOKSATTA, who has been working on the Systemic Reforms, will enlighten us on this.
Please ensure that atleast 3 members including office bearers of the Unit attend this meeting.
This is also a public meeting. Hence pass the message around and encourage as many to join this campaign.
BE INFORMED so that you can HELP OUR PEOPLE.
BE A CHANGE AGENT today for a better INDIA tomorrow.
