Re:Request for your presence in Mumbai on 30th June and 1st July for launching "Prantwad Chhodo - Bharat Jodo Abhiyan".

Dear Shri Dolphy Dsouzaji,

The recent attacks against North Indians in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, the killings of Hindi-speaking people in Assam, Gujjar-Meena cast war in Rajasthan and attempts to fan flames of hatred on parochial lines in other parts threatened the unity and integrity of the country. "British divided and ruled India" and even after 60 years of independence, we find that British rulers have been substituted by few Indians, who have pursued the same policy of "divide and rule". The growing disparity between one state and another is very noticeable and significant. In India, political parties fan the fires of regionalism, communalism, castesm and parochialism rather than addressing the real issues of governance.

Lok Satta Movement will spearhead a citizens' campaign for One India One People to highlight parochial agitations by political parties that are threatening our nation. Prantwad Chhodo-Bharat Jodo Abhiyan is a response to today's political situation of "Divide and Rule" leaving Indians fooled, ruled and plundered.

Campaign Mission:

1. Say no to 'Divide and Rule' political practices.

2. Highlighting the problem of 'Employability', which is the main reason for 'Unemployment'?

3. Saluting Baba Amte's Legacy.

It has long been also felt that youth of our country should have a platform where convergence of youth information, their problems, training and skill development take place so as to create increasing opportunities for youth to develop their personality, their functional capabilities, making them socially pro-active and useful. One of the important ways to achieve this is to provide the youth with a maximum access to all region and their cultural bonding.

"Prantwad Chhodo - Bharat Jodo Abhiyan" is an effort to highlight such destructive political practices and to proclaim in the spirit of nationalism, the need for constructive solutions to fight poverty and unemployment. Prantwad Chhodo-Bharat Jodo Abhiyan will start with many yatras from Mumbai over the next few months to various part of the country.

These yatras will be carried out by members of Yuva Satta, the youth wing of the Lok Satta Movement who are dedicated and nationalist Indian between the age group of 18-30 years. These yatra's will associate and partner with local civil society activist, citizen and organisation on route to high light the real issues of governance.

The campaign will be launched through a press conference and public meeting on Monday, 30th June 2008 at 3:30 PM at Lok Satta Audotorium, Byculla.

The first yatra will start from Mumbai CST at 12:00 on Tuesday, 1st July to Hyderabad. Media, local citizen activists will be present at every station on route of the yatra like in Kalyan, Karjat, Pune, Daund, Sholapur etc.

It is our request and desire that the campaign shall be launched from a nationalist like you.

We sincerely hope that you will agree to this proposal.

Please confirm your participation.

We also invite all All Bombay Catholic Sabha members to be present on 30th June and 1st July at respective locations.
